📎 FYI: Capiz shells are actually the outer shells of a marine mollusk whose scientific name is Placenta Placuna, more commonly known as the "glass oyster".

The Capiz shells from the Philippines are so named because they were initially harvested in the shallow coastal waters near the city of Capiz, on the island of Panay.

Once cleaned, the shells are naturally translucent and, once painted, allow for a magnificent interaction between light and color.
