Dragon's Blood Jasper gets its evocative name from its contrasting colors: the deep green symbolizes the dragon's scales, while the red veins recall its blood and life force.

Originating primarily from South Africa and Australia, it is considered a stone of strength and rebirth. In modern spiritual traditions, it is said to awaken the “inner dragon”—the vital energy, courage, and will to move forward despite obstacles.

In crystal healing, it is a stone of grounding and protection, while also stimulating vitality and motivation, particularly useful during periods of fatigue or transition.

🧭 Note

It should not be confused with blood jasper (heliotrope), dark green speckled with red, which is another variety.

It is composed mainly of microcrystalline quartz (jasper) mixed with green fuchsite and red hematite, which gives it its characteristic appearance.
