🫖 Instructions for use - Usage

For proper use, however, it is important to read and follow the "Before First Use and Maintenance" instructions. The instruction manual is included in English, Dutch, German, French, Italian, and Spanish.

Before using the Tetsubin iron teapot for the first time, put a small cup of green tea leaves in the iron teapot and fill the teapot 2/3 full with water.

Boil for 20 minutes, turn off the heat and let it stand for 5-6 minutes. Then empty the black water from the teapot.

Once again, fill the teapot with water and boil it 6 to 8 times until the water is clear and the teapot is ready to use.

This procedure is useful because the tannin dissolved in the tea has a chemical reaction with the iron in the teapot.

A film of iron tannin will form on the surface of the iron teapot, which has the effect of preventing the iron teapot from rusting.

Approximately 5 days after first use, red and rust stains will appear inside, while white encrustations will appear within approximately 10 days.

Over time, the inside will turn completely red. If the water doesn't become cloudy, it doesn't matter; please do not remove or wash this film. Leave it as is.

After each use, empty the teapot, let it cool and let the inside air dry.

After drying, put the lid on. Do not leave water sitting in the iron teapot when not in use.

Do not cover the teapot with the lid until it has cooled completely. Wipe the lid with a cloth to prevent condensation from wetting the inside of the teapot.

Suitable heat sources for iron teapots include fire, gas, induction, and ceramic electric hobs, as the iron teapot is suitable for a gradual heating process.

Due to gradual heating, a little iron is slowly released inside, thus increasing the taste of the drinking water and helping the body absorb the iron, which has the same effect as an iron supplement.

Precautions 1. Avoid touching the inside of the iron teapot directly with your hands. Try not to clean the inside with a cloth or brush; do not use detergent, do not wipe.

2. Do not wash the teapot in cold water. Do not heat the teapot dry, as this will shorten the lifespan of the iron teapot and may also break it. Do not drop the teapot, as the iron may break.

3. The iron teapot is very heavy and its weight doubles after being filled with water. It is therefore recommended to fill it only 2/3 full to avoid any overflow during boiling.

4. If you are not using the teapot for a long time, please coat the inside and outside with quality food oil, then store it in a cool, dry place.

When you start using the teapot again, fill it with water, boil it, then pour out the water and you can use it again.
