🫖 Instructions for use - Use
For proper use, however, it is important to read and follow the instructions "Before first use and maintenance". The instruction manual is included in English, Dutch, German, French, Italian and Spanish.
Before using the Tetsubin iron teapot for the first time, put a small cup of green tea leaves into the iron teapot and fill the teapot 2/3 full with water.
Boil for 20 minutes, turn off the heat and let stand for 5-6 minutes. Then empty the black water from the teapot.
Again, fill the teapot with water and boil 6 to 8 times until the water runs clear and the teapot is ready to use.
This procedure is useful because the tannin dissolved in the tea has a chemical reaction with the iron in the teapot.
A film of iron tannin will form on the surface of the iron teapot, which has the effect of preventing the iron teapot from rusting.
About 5 days after first use, red and rusty stains will appear inside, while white incrustations will appear within about 10 days.
Over time, the inside will turn completely red. If the water doesn't turn cloudy, it doesn't matter; please don't remove or wash this film. Leave it as is.
After each use, empty the teapot, let it cool and let the inside air dry.
After drying, put the lid on. Do not let water stand in the iron teapot when not in use.
Do not cover the teapot with the lid until it has cooled completely. Wipe the lid with a cloth to prevent condensation from getting inside the teapot.
Suitable heat sources for iron teapots are fire, gas, induction and electric ceramic hobs, as the iron teapot is suitable for a gradual heating process.
Due to gradual heating, some iron is slowly released inside, thus increasing the taste of drinking water and helping the body absorb iron, which has the same effect as an iron supplement.
Precautions 1. Avoid touching the inside of the iron teapot directly with your hands. Try not to clean the inside with a cloth or brush; do not use detergent, do not wipe.
2. Do not wash the teapot with cold water. Do not dry heat the teapot without water, as this will shorten the life of the iron teapot and may also break it. Do not drop the teapot, as the iron may break.
3. The iron teapot is very heavy and its weight doubles after filling it with water. Therefore, it is recommended to fill it only 2/3 full of water to avoid overflow when boiling.
4. If you do not use the teapot for a long time, please coat the inside and outside with quality cooking oil, and then store it in a cool and dry place.
When you start using the teapot again, fill it with water, boil it, then pour out the water and you can use it again.
